Pastor, Richmond Nana Danso, was on Monday remanded by an Accra circuit court for dishonestly appropriating $10,080 and GH¢2,000.00, belonging to Lucy Korkoi Tetteh.

Nana Danso pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded by the court, presided by Mrs Afi Agbanu Kudomor, to appear again on March 30.

Prosecuting, Chief Superintendent of Police Duuti Tuaruka told the court that the complainant Tetteh, is unemployed, and lives at Nsawam, while the accused is the resident pastor of the African Faith Church, Pokuase.

Chief Sup Tuaruka said in June 2015, a friend of the complainant invited her to Pastor Nana Danso’s church, and the pastor told the complainant that bad spirits were following her.

He told the court that the accused asked the complainant to bring all her monies, for him to pray over them, and the complainant gave $10,080 and GH¢2,000.00 to the pastor, as requested.

Chief Sup Tuaruka said the pastor performed rituals over the money in the presence of Tetteh, but after two weeks the pastor refused to return the money to the complainant.

He said in September 2015, Tetteh lodged a complainant to the police and the accused was arrested on January 19, this year. – GNA
