Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson has hit the grounds on Monday 12, after the suspension of campaign activities over the weekend in honour of the late MP for Mfantseman constituency, Hon. Ekow Hayford Quansah.
“Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson and her campaign team will restart their campaign activities within the Awutu Senya East East Constituency,” information from a member of her camp revealed on Sunday.
The sad demise of the late MP occurred in a robbery incident on Thursday midnight on the Abeadze-Dominase Abeadze-Duadzi Mankessim road whiles returning from a campaign trail.
The Development and Special Initiatives Minister, suspended all campaign activities to commiserate with the bereaved family, constituents and the NPP in respect of the demise of the Mfantseman MP over the weekend.
Hon. Hawa Koomsom is hopeful that the perpetrators of the crime would be exposed.
“Her prayers are with the family and the people of Mfantseman. She is of the firm belief that the Lord God shall grant him peace and eternal rest and also expose the perpetrators of this heinous crime.”
She urges the Ghanaian populace to say a prayer for the family, the wife and children, and constituents of the late MP.
The MP is seeking re-election to retain the Awutu Senya East Constituency seat for the New Patriotic Party in the December polls for the third time.
