Voter arrested at Zebilla for allegedly taking pictures of ballot paper

The Zebilla Police Command in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region has arrested a 36-year-old voter Daniel Avoka for allegedly taking pictures of his ballot paper after casting his ballot at the Zebilla polling station.

The suspect was arrested by a police officer immediately after taking a shot of his ballot for another purpose at the Zebilla SHS polling station.

The Coalition of Domestic Election Observer (CODEO) has presented its mid-day situational report on the ongoing voting exercise across the entire country.

Guan residents disappointed over exclusion from parliamentary election

Angrh residents in Akpafu Odormi have expressed their disappointment in the government for failing to create a constituency for some residents of the Guan district since its creation two years ago.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has removed the presiding officer at a polling station in the Klottey Korle constituency for allowing a special voter to vote again.

Election 2020: Man on admission walks from hospital to vote at Community 7 Datus Polling Station

A resident of Tema Central, Charles Asante Yeboah who has been on admission at the International Maritime Hospital has with the support of health officials cast his ballot at the Community 7 Datus Polling Station.

The voter who did not want his ill health to prevent him from exercising his voting right was assisted by the health officials and Electoral Commission officers upon arrival.

Upper East: NDDI impressed with peaceful conduct of Presidential and Parliamentary elections

The Northern Development Democratic Institute (NDDI), a Tamale-based policy think-tank, said it is so far impressed with the peaceful commencement of the voting exercise of the Presidential and Parliamentary election at various polling stations across the five Northern regions.

Speaking to some journalists in Bolgatanga, the regional capital of Upper East Region on Monday, after touring some of the polling stations in the region, the Executive Director of the NDDI who also doubled as the Head of the NDDI Election Observer Team in charge of the Upper East Region, Mr. Mustapha Sanah, indicated that so far his outfit monitoring many of the polling stations in the region confirmed that the exercise was being conducted without any major hitches.

Low turnout at my Redeemer School Centre

My Redeemer School polling station in the Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency of the Greater Accra region has so far registered a low voter turnout.

The centre, divided into two, has a total voter population of 451 but as at midday, only 165 people had cast their votes.

Adongo vows to arrest NPP’s financier “caught” sharing money for votes

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has expressed fury at a man said to be a financier of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for reportedly doling out cash to voters in a queue on Election Day in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency apparently to influence them in the NPP’s interest.

The MP, who is seeking reelection at the ongoing 2020 general elections, told newsmen at the Rashadiya Primary School Polling Station, where the alleged vote-buying took place, nobody should hold the NDC responsible if the said well-known financier was caught in same act again. Eyewitnesses say the alleged bankroller works at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

Kumasi: EC officials directing voters to vote for NPP – NDC alleges

The opposition National Democratic Congress has alleged that some EC officials in various polling stations in the Ashanti region are directing voters to vote for NPP candidates in both the parliamentary and presidential polls.

Police on manhunt for Kasoa shooters

The police is on the manhunt for occupants of a black 4×4 SUV, who shot occupants of a silver-coloured Kia private saloon car with registration number GW 2375-20 on Election Day, Monday, 7 December 2020 at Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Constituency of the Central Region.

The occupants, who got injured, were taken to the hospital and, according to the police, are responding to treatment.
