I Am Sad To Leave Sassuolo But I Hope To Score Against Real Madrid In El Classico - KP Boateng On Joining Barcelona

Ghana international, Kevin-Prince Boateng gas confirmed that he is joining FC Barcelona from US Sassuolo but hope to score against his favourite club Real Madrid in the El Classico.

The 33-year-old will join Spanish La Liga side on loan until the end of the season with the club having an option to sign him permanently for eight million euros.

Boateng only joined Sassuolo in the summer and has scored four goals in 13 Serie A outings, recently playing in a more advanced role.

His previous spell in La Liga was a successful one, Boateng scoring 10 goals in 28 appearances for Las Palmas in 2016-17 before leaving for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Barcelona have been looking to bolster their attacking options since allowing Munir El Haddadi to join Sevilla and Boateng has been settled on as the perfect fit for the club.

“Barça, I’m coming!” he told Sky Sports Italia.

“I’m sad to leave Sassuolo but is a great chance.

In a 2017 interview, Boateng answered he preferred Real Madrid to Barcelona.

However, Boateng says his focus is on his new club and hopes to find the net against Real Madrid in the Clasico.

“Don’t ask me about Real Madrid… is just the past! I only want to focus on Barcelona and I hope to score at Bernabéu for the next Clásico,” he added.

Boateng’s Europe-hopping career has also seen him play for Hertha Berlin, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Tottenham, Portsmouth and AC Milan.
